The heartbreaking tragedy unfolding across Dekina Local Government is a painful wound in the soul of Igala land. Residents of Okete community have fled their ancestral homes in fear and tears.
Reports confirm that Ebeje I and Ebeje II have been destroyed by armed militia groups, while the village of Edede has been completely wiped off the map. Today, Akpelu community stands in fear, tension, and uncertainty as innocent families continue to suffer.
Having personally visited these communities during my campaign across the Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency, I know these people. I walked their roads, sat with their elders, listened to their cries, and witnessed their struggles firsthand.

What is happening today is not just a local crisis — it is a humanitarian disaster and a direct attack on the peace, unity, and existence of our people.I call on the Kogi State Government and the Federal Government to rise immediately to their constitutional responsibility.
The people of Oganenigu ward cannot continue to live under fear while their homes are being turned into ashes. Silence at this critical moment will only deepen the pains of innocent citizens who look up to government for protection.
I passionately appeal to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Nigerian military authorities to urgently deploy security intervention to these troubled communities before more innocent blood is shed. Every second of delay puts more lives at risk.
To all sons and daughters of Igala land serving in the military, security agencies, and other strategic institutions, this is the time to stand for the defence of our ancestral land. History will remember those who stood up when their people were under siege.
It is deeply painful that while our communities burn, some traditional rulers and influential figures who should speak boldly for the people have remained silent. The people deserve truth, justice, and protection — not silence in the face of destruction.
Enough is enough. Igala land must not become a battlefield abandoned to fear and bloodshed. The cries of widows, displaced children, and helpless families must touch the conscience of those in power.May peace, justice, and security return to our land.
