Thugs armed with guns, axes and dangerous knives have attacked prominent politicians in Ofu, beating them to run off the scene of their meeting at the point of death.
Elder Ubolo Okpanachi and Elder Ukwenya were among the prominent politicians that convened a meeting of the newly formed African Democratic Party, ADC, which had former President Obasanjo’s blessing.
The two elders of the African Democratic Party and their supporters during the meeting in Itobe ran for cover in the nearby bush, gutter and the river for fear of been killed by the hired thugs known for their notorious activities to cow the opposition elements

The thugs sponsored have attacked prominent politicians, party elders, opposition figures and political office holders within the state to frustrate efforts of any rising moves against the present APC government in the state.
Sometimes ago seasoned politicians in the person of former Senator Dr. Alex Usman Kadiri, former minister, Architect Gabriel Yakubu Aduku and other known leaders were attacked during series of political meetings in their country homes believed to be the agents of the state government.
