The House of Representatives candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Lokoja-Kogi Federal constituency, Barr. Shaba Ibrahim has expressed confidence that he emerge victorious in next Saturday’s poll.
Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja during the party’s campaign tour, Shaba stated that those hoping to re-enact the shenanigans witnessed during the August 2018 bye-elections in the Federal constituency are living in the past.
The former Kogi local government council boss noted that a lot of factor played out during the last bye-elections that denied PDP of its deserved victory.
“It has to do with dynamics of politics. A lot of factors come into play. Without going into details, I want to assure that Saturday election will not go the way of the bye election.
“Those who are running against us are of the believe that they can reenact the shenanigans of the past but they will be living in yesterday if they believe so.
“You can see the mood of the people. It speaks volume about the likely outcome of the elections. The power resides with the people. The passionate crowds that graced our campaigns is an eloquent testimony of the direction the elections will go on Saturday,” he said.
He charged voters in the constituency to defend their votes during the rescheduled national assembly elections on Saturday.
