The newly installed Aare Amayerorun of Amuro Kingdom, Engr. Edward Olatunji Meseko, has called on indigenes of the kingdom to embrace unity to build a prosperous community.
Meseko made the call on Saturday while speaking with journalists at his residence in Takete-Ide, shortly after his installation with a special chieftaincy title.

The renowned philanthropist and illustrious son of Amuro Land said the time had come for all indigenes to unite and work towards building a better and more prosperous kingdom.
“We can only build a prosperous Amuro Kingdom through unity, not division. This is our Jerusalem, and we must build it together in love.
“We are one big family in Amuro and share things in common. Let us prioritise Amuro first in all our plans,” he said.
The new traditional title holder advised indigenes not to allow political differences and party affiliations to divide them, but to work together for the overall development of the kingdom.
“We cannot allow politics and party affiliations to divide Amuro Kingdom. Let us use our political differences to attract development to our communities,” he said.
Meseko was conferred with the chieftaincy title on Saturday by Oba (Engr.) Alfred Modupe Aiyedogbon (JP), the Alamuro of Amuro Land, during the 2026 Amuro Day celebration.
The former All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives aspirant also urged youths to embrace unity, protect the community’s interests and actively participate in its development.
He called on other newly installed title holders to regard the honours as a call to greater service and remain committed to initiatives that would promote the growth and development of the kingdom.
Meseko expressed gratitude to the traditional ruler, community leaders and people of Amuro Land for the confidence reposed in him.
He described the honour as a collective recognition of the contributions of all sons and daughters of Amuro Land, pledging to intensify his efforts towards the development of the community.
“I want to thank the Alamuro of Amuro Kingdom, Oba Alfred Aiyedogbon, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Oluwamuyiwa Ibeun, the Elulu of Mopa, and other traditional rulers for the confidence reposed in me and the honour bestowed on me,” he said.
As part of his commitment to the community, the newly installed Aare Mayegun donated N500,000 to support the launch of the Amuro Day programme and contribute to the development of the kingdom.
Dignitaries who visited his residence in Takete-Ide to celebrate with him included retired Commodore Folusho Daniel, Eric Viki and other prominent personalities.
