Thesis Project: Kogi Students in Vietnam Comes Out As Best Students

Kashim Idris, Monday Abubakar Abdullawal, John Adebiyi, and Ahdulkerim Oioajogwu Jibrin are 4 out of 140 international students studying their degree programs in FPT University, Vietnam.

The four star students are Nigerians from Kogi State. John Adebiyi is from Ogori/Magongo, Kashim Idris hails from Dekina. Monday Abubakar is a native of Okene while Jibrin Abdulkarim hails from Dekina local government area of Kogi State.

 

During the time studying Bachelor of International Software Engineering (ISE) in FPT University, they were motivated by a desire to foster the business development in their home nation. Based on acquired knowledge and experience when using electronic commerce services, an e-commerce platform has been developed as their capstone project.

Realizing the difficulties in purchasing traditional product, they have been developing a website that help other people to easily buy and sell this kind of goods online. This project was inspired by the e-commerce models as Chotot.vn, Lazada or Zalora. With the reasonable adjustments, the website will provide users a convenient trading platform to stimulate their trading activities.

“This project attributed to the Nigerian culture presentation as well as economic development. In general, the website has met the standard requirements relating to interface and functions of an e-commerce site. There will be need several adjustments to put into practice in the best way.” said Dr. Tran Dinh Tri – Chairman of Reviewing council.

Referring to the time studying his Bachelor of International Software Engineering (ISE) at FPT University, John Adebiyi expressed his satisfaction in the completion of his presentation:

“The critical opinions of reviewing council are really helpful. Thanks to those comments, our projects will be improved and effectively applied.”

Being the supervisor of 4 Nigerian students, Mr. Luong Trung Kien – Lecturer on Software Engineering specialization is considered as a source of encouragement for the completion of the project. Bring back to the first days working with the international students, Mr. Luong Trung Kien said:

“Our international students and Vietnamese students are the same in term of hard working and painstaking study. However, it seems that our international students are more confident in expressing their ideas and opinions than their Vietnamese counterparts.”

Overcoming the differences in culture and studying method, those Nigerian friends have successfully completed their Bachelor of International Software Engineering (ISE) in FPT University Vietnam. After coming back to their home nation, they will develop their own business based on this projects.
