Dr Abdulhakeem Ashraff, the Curator of the TEDxAdankolo event, has said this year’s edition will be a remarkable event.

In a chat with newsmen in Lokoja, Dr Ashraff noted that Tedx as an event has evolved over the years and this year’s edition promises to be bigger and better with speakers drawn across different sectors.

“TedxAdankolo events started 3 years ago with a license to host a hundred attendees. At every event, we come up with different themes to address local challenges. We started with ‘Deliberate Conversations’ to ‘Borderless’ and now we are going with ‘Mindset’ as a theme. The evolution has been that of a fast growing one as we now have a license to cater for a thousand attendees,” Dr Ashraff disclosed.

Since its inception, the independently organised TED event annually held in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, has had some big names grace its stage where they shared ideas, innovations and experiences that are believed to have shaped opinions and changed mindsets.

The 2022 TEDxAdankolo theme is “Mindset”. The curator noted that the theme was chosen based on the perceived challenges of the host community. He further revealed that a particular challenge that this year’s edition seeks to address is that of our MINDSET as, according to him, the mind is where all developmental processes begin.

Some of the speakers that have been unveiled for this year’s edition are: Eunice Agada-Emmanuel, Co-Founder of Mentor Box, Dr Sunday Agbonika, Founder, Dogalov Human Support Initiative, Busari Omotola Adeyinka, Brand Identity Designer & CEO Talografik Studio, Abdullahi O. Haruna (Haruspice), Author/Columnist, Hajiya Rekiya Onaivo Sanni, MD/CEO, Kogi Enterprise Development Agency, and other highly accomplished individuals.

TEDxAdankolo will hold at the Glass House, Kogi State Government House, Lokoja on Saturday, November 12, 2022 by 9:00 AM.
