The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people- Martin Luther King, Jr.
Ladies and gentlemen of Kogi central, distinguish senator Ahmed Salau Ogembe i salute you all.
There is no chain in my legs or hands that prevents me from exercising my freedom of movement or expression, neither is there padlock in my mouth that forbids me from speaking, so pardon me today the great and industrious people of Kogi Central as I once again undergo a self-instructed task of speaking truth to power and I hope this will prick the conscience of our leaders, especially Hon. Ahmed Salau Ogembe, Senator representing Kogi central Senatorial District, who is the focal point of this write-up. Absolute silence leads to sadness. It is the image of death. Jean-Jacques Rousseau”
Hon Ahmed Salau Ogembe It has been a couple of time we take a close look at your activities as a senator representing the people of kogi central which happen to be my constituency. It’s almost late, but I’m glad writing you today to demand for accountability, quality every good leader should possess.
It’s Haile Selassie who submitted to the public an inspiring quote to liberate the sleeping giant who think good governance can be achieved by folding hands and Sleeping without pointing out where and what is wrong, demanding that those saddled with responsibility should wake up and deliver on their mandate.
“He wrote and i quote, “Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph.” This point was buttressed by Martin Luther King, Jr. when he opined, “History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.”
Ladies and gentlemen, I would have overlooked this things and walk away just like others,  if possible mortgage my due benefit as a constituent and join the team for a meal day of yam porridge, but conscience does not permit me to do so. I rather remain on the side of truth with the progressive citizens whose heart beat is to see a society that work in their life time than to mortgage our destiny and the future of our children.
Distinguish senator Ahmed Salau Ogembe, I do not want to waste your time, bellow is the report I got from social media as your proposed constituiency project in 2016 and I will like you to check and authenticate its truth value.
1 Completion of civic center, Agasa, obehina junction okene, kogi central Senatorial district kogi state 64.3million
2 Construction of five(5) motorized borholds in various location of Okehi, Okehi LGA,  Kogi central Snatorial District Kogi State  28million
3 Construction of five(5) motorized boreholes in various location of Ajaokuta, Ajaokuta LGA, Kogi Central Senatorial District Kogi State  28million
4 Construction of six(6) motorized boreholes in various location of Okene, Okene LGA, Kogi central Senatorial District Kogi State   32million
5 Construction of five(5) motorized boreholes in various location of Adavi, Adavi LGA, Kogi Central senatorial District  Kogi State 28m
6 Construction of five(5) motorized boreholes in various location of Ogori/Magongo  LGA, Kogi Central senatorial District, Kogi State 28million.
Total Project Executed N208million and unfortunately, these was believed to have been spent on Borehole alone. Whether or not there are other projects, I dont know.
Great people of Kogi Central, those who robbed you of your future are those you put in charge of leadership position. A total of N208million was allocated for constituency projects in kogi central senatorial district in the 2016 appropriation budget through *Hon Ahmed Salau Ogembe and he wasted it on boreholes which we never see the effect in the society. shame on us for given our mandate to such a man who cares for nothing but himself.
On a second thought, why is it that borehole is the only project of worth Sen. Ogembe is embarking on? One is tempted to ask if you are vast in the knowledge of our needs. Even before you became the Senator, the feat you have achieved in that area is enough reason to look elsewhere.
Hon Senator Ahmed Ogembe, As a leader, i expect you to know the growth and development of a society is vested on leaders who the people entrusted or saddled with responsibility. You have been given the opportunity to preside over the affair of the people of Kogi central and all you are able to give back to them from 2016 appropriation budget is boreholes…This is ridiculous to say the least.
Sometimes I wonder what this men in power take us for,  we are not Stupid, and we are not your servant rather you are our servant and we demand accountability. We need the cost of Each borehole  and the Number of boreholes in central, location where they are dug.
No wonder Idowu  Koyenikan said,  “Show me the heroes that the youth of your country look up to, and I will tell you the future of your country” He must have had our distinguish Senator in mind. How can our society get better when those who suppose be called role modela are the ones inflicting us with chronic hardship? squandering and coveting public fund to their private pocket in the name of projects that lack development.
A progressive  society is not defined by its borders or the boundaries of its land mass or the numbers of boreholes. Rather, a society  is defined by diverse people who have been unified by a cause and a value system and who are committed to a vision for the type of society they wish to live in and give to the future generations to come. Hon Ahmed Salau  Ogember with your activities in the red chamber what kind of society to you expect to see in the central?
What can the next generation look back  and remember about your reign in the national Assembly?
What name are you building for yourself and children?
Can we trust you again with position again?
Your scandalous and waste of public fund is overwhelming, it has touched the inner most part of me that I cannot be silent anymore.
I see the day, a day so close to us than we can imagine, that the garment of crime and corruption our leaders put on will no longer be comfortable for them in the society. Their children will be ashamed of bearing their father’s name because he have brought reproach to the society and to their family.
Ladies and gentlemen, If every leaders can get rid of financial  indiscipline syndrome, purge out themselves of greed and corruption before getting to power,  we have immense potential to build more productive, conflict-free, harmonious and peaceful communities, societies, cities, nations and world.
Sustainable development is the pathway to the future we want for all. It offers a framework to generate economic growth, achieve social justice, exercise environmental stewardship and strengthen governance.
This must sink into the subconsciousness of our leaders, we should be ashamed of ourselves, when others are talking of capital project, human development to improve the economy, job creation and developmental project we are still busy talking of boreholes as our main project. All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and that effort means work. Corruption is the enemy of development, and of good governance. It must be got rid of. Both the government and the people at large must come together to achieve this national objective.
Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan said,  “The backbone of any improvement of governance, its development as well as its protection from any form of wastage or excessiveness, is a mechanism to place laws under the microscope of revision and modernization until they resonate in tune with the methodological development and new administrative technologies.” This we must insist until we have a nation where the security and welfare of the people is prioritize.
Hon Ahmed Ogembe Enough Of This Wastage.
Together We Will Hold Ahmed Ogembe Accountable For This Wastage…It Is A Questions  Of Time.
