Senator Smart Adeyemi’s Scorecard – Evangelist Fanwo

As a journalist, Senator Smart Adeyemi is expected to be fully abreast of his duties and obligations to his constituents. We in the 4th Estate of the Realm are fond of criticizing the people. But can we do better given the opportunity?

It will be unfair to fall under the weight of the fallacy of unfortunate generalization. I remember joking with Senator Babafemi Ojudu not to become another Smart Adeyemi shortly before election. It was just a joke. I knew Ojudu is far more enlightened than Smart.

We need to help Smart. He is not failing himself; but us. Check out his wonderous hotels in Ilorin. He did not build them before he became Senator. He built them with our mandate.

Smart’s greatest undoing is his disconnect from the people who gave him power. He was wrong to think the people are only “voting materials”. When you fail to connect with your constituents, you lose touch with their aspirations. They leave you behind in their plans. Kogi West wont miss Senator Smart Adeyemi. Our roads are bad. Our hospitals are horrible. Our District has no federal presence. But we remain undefeated.

It must be told that we are determined to resist the “belly politics” which they want to foist on us. Why is Omokore not investing in Agriculture to engage and empower our youths?

That Karimi has joined them is a betrayal. We voted for Karimi to represent us and not to be Smart’s PA.

In 2015, our people will vote right. I have met different groups in our communities. I am impressed by their determination and embolden by their desire for change and development. Thinking they could buy our people again is odd and insulting. Our resolve cant be broken; our dreams cant be truncated.

Smart must respect rotation because you cant break the bridge that gives you access. He has failed and must be voted out in 2015.

With you, we can. It begins with you.

Thanks and God bless you all.
