Businessman, Alhaji Adebola Sheidu has donated ₦30 million in cash and equipment to his ancestral community of Iyamoye in Kogi State, organizers said, days before a fundraising event aimed at raising ₦500 million for local development.

Sheidu, chairman of Brains and Hammers Group, gave ₦20 million in cash and industrial skill acquisition equipment valued at ₦10 million, according to Sheriff Bello, chairman of the 2026 Iyamoye Day Planning Committee.

Bello announced the donation while briefing on preparations for the Iyamoye Community Day Celebration and fundraising event, scheduled for Saturday in Iyamoye Kingdom, in the Ijumu Local Government Area.

The committee said the equipment is intended to support vocational training and youth empowerment in the community. It said the contribution would give momentum to the ₦500 million target, which is earmarked for the development of the kingdom.

Organizers said the event is expected to draw indigenes from across Nigeria and the diaspora. The committee described Sheidu’s gift as an example for other sons and daughters of the community.

Sheidu has previously contributed to community development in Iyamoye, the committee said.
