The Senator representing Kogi Central, Senator Yakubu Oseni has described the overwhelming victory of Governor Yahaya Bello as a true reflection of people’s will and resolve to permanently bury frivolous sentiments in the choice of leaders.

Senator Oseni made this known in Lokoja today while reacting to the eventual declaration of Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja as winner of the November 16th gubernatorial election which was keenly contested by three major political parties of All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP).

While reviewing his party’s electioneering campaign activities in the build up to the election, the lawmaker noted that while their major oppositions were busy in mudslinging, blackmail and hitting up the polity, the APC took its issue-based campaigns to the people even in the hinterlands.

“The much-awaited victory has come. I want to use this opportunity to congratulate Governor Yahaya Bello, his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja and APC members on the resounding victory of our party.

“It was tough be rewarding as a result of your untiring effort and belief in the transformative strides of Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration in the last four years”, he said.

The lawmaker who appreciated the entire people of the state and categorically his constituents  for what he described as unprecedented block vote from Kogi Central, expressed optimism that the young, agile and mentally alert Governor would not relent in his quest to revamp the state in all ramifications.

“In Kogi State today, tribal or religious inclinations which were erstwhile parameters for political office have been relegated to the background. These factors can not and will never amount to good governance. This is ideal the present administration stand for in its appointment and all spheres of the state economy.

“We need Kogi State that works for all regardless of where you come from. Kogi people have seen this rare leadership of inclusiveness in Governor Yahaya Bello and they have asked him to do more”, he declared excitedly.

It would be recalled that after weeks of rigorous campaigns, Kogi State gubernatorial election held on the 16th November 2019 which collation of results commenced immediately on the same day. The process was concluded on Monday and the electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Governor Yahaya Bello having polled the highest votes of 406,222 to defeat his closest rival, Engr Musa Wada who polled 189,704.
