The Chairman, Zakat and Endowment Committee of the Kogi State Council of Ulama’u, Alhaji Suleiman Baba Ali, has congratulated Muslim ummah and the entire Kogites in this holy month of Ramadhan
In a press statement signed by him and made available to journalists in Lokoja, Baba Ali admonished them to thank Allah for giving them the opportunity to witness the season from beginning to the commencement of the last ten days of Mercy and Majesty.
Baba Ali, who was a former State Commissioner for Health in the state, reminded Muslims that the rewards for whatever good we do in the month of Ramadhan is multiplied by several folds.
“Being a Muslim is a special favour and  Rahma of Allah SWT over us. I therefore, call on all members of the Ummah to use this last ten days to do as much good as possible. Pay your Zakat, give Sadaqat, feed the poor and for those who can, establish an endowment fund that could outlive you as Sadaqatul Jariyya. You can pay your Zakat to the Council’s special Zakat and Endowment accounts in First Bank and Keystone Bank or to wherever else you may chose. We must also pray for the health and peace of our nation and Leaders,” he said.
The statement further appealed to Muslims to use the holy month in praying  for President Muhammad Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state for strength and guidance in steering the ship of the state and the nation at large.
“We prayed that the responsibility of leadership becomes a source of Al-jannatul firdaus for all those in power and not counted against them,” the statement concluded.
