Senator Abubakar Ohere, on Monday, flagged off disbursement of five million Naira support as Ramadan package to the people of Kogi state.

The cash support was released to members of different online communities in the state.

About six hundred beneficiaries, cutting across eleven WhatsApp groups, were covered in the first phase of the exercise on Monday.

Senator Ohere, who expressed much concerns about the current hardship people are battling with, especially at this very critical moment of the year, decided to bring succour to the people.

“The administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has been doing a lot to reach out to a larger number of people, and efforts will be intensified to bring succour to all and sundry by the state government.

“The state government are not unmindful of the yearnings of our people. It is, therefore, against this backdrop that I deemed it fit to intervene in order to bring succour to the poor and the less privileged ones.

“I will continue to assist our people with whatever comes my way to cushion the biting economic conditions which greatly affect the poor, less privileged and other vulnerable groups,” he said.
