The Progressive Ambassadors of Ebiraland (PRAMEL) has fixed Saturday, July 2nd as the date to hold its first bi-annual unity forum, oration/presentation and launching of a book on the Ebira socio-political and historical transition.
In a letter of invitation signed by its convener, Engr. Ozi-Raji Bill Williams, PRAMEL decried the issue of disunity and moral decadence in Kogi Central.
According to him, there is dire need for all the stakeholders in the senatorial district to come together and critically fashion out a way forward that will foster unity, alleviate the suffering of the masses and critically look at all the areas of concern; particularly, those things bedeviling the Ebiras and seem to have stalled the collective progress of the Ebira people as a nation
The invitation reads in part:
“The above underlined subject matters refers. Most frankly, it is quite sad and of note that, the lingering issues responsible for the disunity among the Ebira, particularly amongst some Ebira Elites, The Brainwashed Younger Generations and among some elders and stakeholders of Ebira land is indeed assuming a stronger dimension and it is gradually weakening our collective strength as Ebiras in the corridors of power, business world and in the political space at both the federal and state level. This is also destroying our chances of enshrining real progress in Ebira land given room for strangers and people of other constituencies to take what is rightly ours
“Nonetheless, and of a great concern, the Progressive Ambassadors of Ebira Land (PRAMEL) is very perturbed by this negative trend since the inception of Kogi state, for this has indeed taken a strong hold on a majority of our people as evident in them destroying one another via their sponsors and abject poverty across ebira land: while our brothers and sisters from the other constituencies and tribes are there making collective progress for themselves, their clans and communities.”
