…Obaro receives instruments of office
The newly appointed Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi has described Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole as one of his beloved sons in whom he is well pleased.
The royal father made this known when he visited the Speaker at the Assembly Complex in Lokoja on Thursday.
The monarch said it was expedient for him to pay a courtesy call on the Speaker and to commend his efforts in resolving the chieftaincy issues amicably in the spirit of fairness, equity and justice.
He said the Speaker has really shown that he is a true born of Oweland, urging him to continue to provide qualitative representation at the state level.
While the Obadofin commended the Speaker for his commitment towards the peace, unity and development of the community, praying that God will continue to enrich his wisdom.
The highly elated Speaker congratulated the newly appointed Obaro, stressing that it is God that ordained him and not man.
He said as one of his subjects he appreciated his kind gesture of visiting his office, noting that it is a rare privilege to have him at the Assembly Complex.
He urged the people of Kabba community in particular and Okun nation in general to cooperate and support the new Monarch as he settles down to move the area forward.
He urged them to continue to pray for the current administration led by Alhaji Yahaya Bello to succeed in its efforts to enhance the lives of Kogites.
Earlier, the Royal father had received his instruments and  paraphernalia of office as the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman Okun Area Traditional Council at the Ministry of Local Government and chieftaincy Affairs,  Lokoja.
Handing over the items which includes, the Nigeria Quote of Arms, Nigerian flag, the pictures of the President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Yahaya Bello and other items to the Monarch, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. (Dr) Abubakar Ohere felicitated with and congratulated the Royal father on his appointment.
He urged him to continue to maintain peace and tranquility in Kabba community and Okunland being the paramount ruler of the area.
He said the instruments of office is a symbol of authority given to him by the government to oversee the area as traditional leader of the area.
According to him, the ministry is already working out date for the presentation of the staff of office which would be done in Kabba and urged the people of the community to continue to support the new direction administration in its efforts to reposition the state for the prosperity of all.
He said the Governor Yahaya Bello led administration is a government that is interested in fairness, equity and justice, hence they are working to address some injustice in the system.
Personalities in attendance in both programs include, Hon Obaro Pedro of Mopamuro, Hon Toyin Lawal of Yagba West, Hon Musa Jimoh of Yagba East, Hon David Edward Onoja, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Commander Jerry Omodara, State Security Adviser, Hon Taofik Isah, Administrator of Ijumu Local Government Area and ALGON Chairman, Kogi State,  His Royal Highness, Oba Michael Yusuf, the Obadofin of Oweland, His Royal Highness, Oba Michael Ibinaiye, the Obajemu of Oweland, His Royal Highness, Oba Joseph Oshatuyi, the Oba of Odolu, Hon Ade Olamife and others.
