The Director for Media and Communications of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kogi state chapter, Comrade Dayo Onibiyo, has resigned his appointment from the party.
In a letter dated April 17, a copy of which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Monday, Onibiyo directed his resignation letter to the State Chairman, Engr. Sam Uhuotu.
It was gathered that his decision to resign from the party is not unconnected with the recently concluded primaries which produced Senator Dino Melaye as the party’s candidate for the November 11 governorship election in Kogi state.
The letter reads in part: “I write to appreciate those who counted me worthy to serve in this office, dated back to June 2021, when it has become clear that the party had lost both its voice and image under a sitting P.R.O of the party, whose life was threatened by the ruling class as reported.
“I also thank the party for the way it has treated me for the selfless services I have rendered by sacrificing me on the altar of delegate because of the fear that I would not do an agenda they have found personal to themselves.”
