Presidential Primary: Kogi Muslims Pray for Gov Bello to Succeed

As the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to elect the party’s flag bearer in the 2023 presidential election draws close, crucial efforts are being made by many aspirants and their supporters to realise their aspirations.

It is in line with the above that supporters of Kogi State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello residing in Otokiti, Shettima, Barracks, Zango and other areas of the Lokoja, the state capital, converged at the Shettima Mosque a couple of days ago to fervently pray with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an for the aspiration of the governor to emerge winner at the APC presidential primary, a success that will give him the honour and right to contest as the Presidential candidate of his party, win the election and become the next Nigerian President.

Speaking after the recitation of the Qur’an by the Muslims among the congregation, the Imam of the Shettima Mosque, Alh Muhammed Jamiu Abdulazeez said the crux of the special prayer was to as the Almighty Allah to intercede on behalf of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello in his presidential ambition for him (the Governor) so that he would beat other aspirants in the APC and bear the flag of the party come 2023.

He said among other things: “God said call me and I will answer you. God will also answer our prayers because of the people of good luck among us. And as this prayer is congregational, the Almighty Allah will grant our request that our son, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello should clinch the ticket of the party and take the mantle of leadership of this country from President Muhammad Buhari come 2023.”

At the Prayer event was the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon Abdulmumuni Danga Adoke. While thanking the organisers of the programme for the patriotism, love for the people of Kogi State as demonstrated in the holding of the prayers for the success of their son who was asking for the country’s Presidency, he promised to constantly make contributions to the development of the Mosque.

He enjoined other Muslims, Christians and the entire people of Nigeria to pray fervently for the only Presidential aspirant from Kogi State as he, in the Commissioner’s words, remains the best of the Presidential aspirants.

In his own remarks, the Supervising Councillor for Health in Lokoja Local Government Area, Mall Abdulrasheed Muhammed called on God to let the the Governor scale the APC Presidential Primary hurdle, expressing confidence that upon transmuting from Governor Yahaya Bello to President Yahaya Bello (GYB to PYB), adding that the people of Kogi State, irrespective of tribe and the entire country would enjoy unlimited good governance.

The Councillor thanked the Commissioner for finding time to attend the occasion and also appreciated Imam Abdulazeez for the recitation of the Qur’an in his Mosque, describing him as a disciplined and versatile Islamic scholar whose prayers for Governor Bello would surely receive Allah’s Blessings.

Comrade Osheiza Yusuf, Chairman of Otokiti- Barracks APC members and the coordinator of the prayers was praised by speakers after speakers for the efforts he made in calling the people together for the Prayer.
