Some Kogi politicians are making subterranean moves to scheme Captain Idris Wada out of the race. Their argument is based on the questionable member ship status of Wada.

While the name of Idris Wada is said to have been smuggled into the party’s register, opinion leaders wondered how he scaled through the party’s screening at Lafia.

The PDP secretary for Odu ward 1, Yunusa Omagada, where Captain Wada claimed to have registered had disowned the PDP governorship candidate.

Omagada in an affidavit sworn to at the Nasarawa State High Court, disclosed that he never issued a membership card to the PDP governorship candidate. In a startling revelation, Omagada who claimed that he ceased to be party secretary for the ward in 2008 declared that an alteration was made on the original party register to accommodate Captain Wada, as a member of the party.

“I have however seen from the register that the original entry on serial No 583 has been altered by the entry of a strange membership card N0 7455310 in the name of one Idris. I Wada which was written in place of an earlier registered name by using correcting fluid to obliterate the former name.”

Though no official statement has been made by the party, rumours are rife in Kogi state that Captain Idris Wada has been dropped as the party gubernatorial candidate for the december 3rd election.

If PDP decide to dump Wada, who will the party choose as her flagbearer? The first runner up, Kutepa? or the winner on January 9th primaries, Echocho?

PDP is used to confusion and bickering having experienced similar issues in some states in the past. It is ‘a family affair’
