PDP Ward Primaries: Awoniyi Urges Aspirants to Strive for Effective Representation

The Peoples Democratic Party Ward Primaries in Mopamuro Local Government Area has been held with a call on elected representatives to strive for effective representation.

The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, made the remarks when he addressed people of the area during the primaries.

He urged them to see politics as a vehicle for development and not as a business for money making.

Awoniyi called on those that emerged victorious to be grateful to God and work for the growth and development of the area. He also called on those who lost not to see their defeat as permanent in politics.
Yomi Awoniyi, described the PDP as a party that caters for the interest of every segment in the society. He eschewed politicians to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness when offended,to over look when cheated and to be patient when denied.

The Deputy Governor urged them to always see politics as a game,appealed to them to display the spirit of sportsmanship.

The Deputy Governor called on those elected at the ward level to be hardworking so as to emerge victorious for the party in the forth coming Council election.

The Ward Primaries of the party begun with the distribution of electoral materials by Yusuf Isah Balarabe and Engr Kunle Salihu who are the Local Government Returning Officers to the ward returning officers.

The election which produced the party’s flag bearers at the ten wards of the Local Government also elected three adhoc delegates respectively.
