… says Tinubu remains the only option for 2027 election

By Hannah Ademu

The Kogi State Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Campaign Movement, Comrade David Mark Ogwu, has called on residents of Kogi State to turn out en masse for the movement’s inaugural programme scheduled to hold on Monday, October 12, 2026, in Lokoja.

Ogwu described the inauguration as a significant step towards strengthening the movement’s grassroots engagement across the state, urging supporters, political stakeholders, community leaders and other interested residents to come out in large numbers to identify with the initiative and witness the formal commencement of its activities.

The programme, according to the State Coordinator, will set the stage for a coordinated grassroots outreach aimed at taking information about the policies and achievements attributed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration directly to the people as preparations gradually build towards the 2027 general elections.

He explained that the movement was established on the principle that effective political engagement begins at the grassroots, stressing that direct interaction with residents at the polling-unit, ward and local government levels would remain central to its operations across Kogi State.

“Politics is local. In Kogi State, we believe in local politics,” Ogwu declared, reaffirming the movement’s commitment to engaging residents in their communities, listening to their concerns and communicating its message through direct, face-to-face interactions.

The State Coordinator’s mobilisation call comes on the heels of the movement’s recent visit to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo at Government House, Lokoja, where the governor charged its members to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and engage meaningfully with the people ahead of the 2027 general elections.

During the meeting, Governor Ododo commended the group for its commitment to the campaign and emphasised the importance of communicating the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration while acknowledging the Federal Government’s contributions to Kogi State, particularly in addressing security challenges.

The movement’s National Coordinator, Sunday Asuku, had earlier disclosed that the group was preparing to formally launch its activities in the state, while the North Central Coordinator, Ambassador Motowa Victor Opeyemi, reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its reach through a structured mobilisation network.

As part of its preparations, the movement disclosed that it had provided 25 campaign vehicles, 50 public address speakers and other mobilisation materials to support its activities across Kogi State. The resources are expected to facilitate its planned engagement with residents across communities and local government areas.

Mark therefore urged Kogites to make Monday’s inaugural programme a moment of active participation, noting that the event would provide an opportunity for stakeholders and supporters to familiarise themselves with the movement’s objectives and its proposed approach to grassroots political engagement.

He expressed optimism that the inauguration would lay the foundation for wider community outreach across the state, while reiterating the importance of sustained engagement, effective communication and grassroots participation in the movement’s activities.
