A former senatorial aspirant, Otunba Adeniyi Olayemi, has congratulated Senator Sunday Karimi on his emergence as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded primary election.

In a statement on Friday, Otunba Olayemi described the senator as a principled man with undeniable impact across the senatorial district.

Alluding his victory at the primaries to consistency, competence and character, Otunba Olayemi said the outcome did not come as a surprise giving Snator Karimi’s track record of enviable achievements across kogi West in the last three years.

“Senator Sunday Steve Karimi has distinguished himself in the National Assembly and across Kogi West as a statesman, patriotic Nigerian and a good ambassador of his people.

“As a lawmaker, he has contributed meaningfully to the growth and development of Nigeria through bills and motions. His developmental footprints are evident in different communities in Kogi West. Aside his bursary to students in tertiary institutions, CBT centre and army forward base, it is worth mentioning that his financial intervention towards the reconstruction of Pakuta Bridge has helped reconnecting communities across Ijumu, Bunu and Lokoja areas – all in Kogi West.

“The over one billion Naira comprehensive upgrade of Government Science Secondary School, Koton Karfe spearheaded by the senator has redefined the learning environment for students and teachers.

“Senator Karimi is in touch with his people and knows where the shoe pinches. The mass support for his re-election is not misplaced,” he said.

Otunba Olayemi commended the lawmaker for his pragmatic approach to representation and urged him to sustain the tempo.
