When you hear strike, the layman definition is; stay away from work. 90% cause of strike action world over is salary related. Government have taken the issue of salary with careless abandon. No government has ever succeeded from Nigeria history with salary palaver.
In Kogi state, late Prince Abubakar Audu, was ousted out of office in 2004 not because he didn’t perform, but because he performed abysmally on salary issue.
Former Governor Ibrahim Idris (Ibro) performed better on salary issue than other aspect of governance. He implemented the;
1- Relativity salary package
2- He implemented the minimum wage salary package
3- He pays leave bonus to civil servants in the state through out his tenure.
Though former governor Ibrahim Idris was lucky to govern the state in the era of boom. Nobody care about the attention he gives to other sector, this is why, when he introduced Captain Idris Wada to kogites, he was accepted because Ibro was civil servants friendly.
Not that there were no industrial actions during Ibro’s tenure, most of it has nothing to do with non payment of salary rather increment and implementation of relativity and minimum wage.
The only antidote to industrial action is to give to civil servants what due for them.
The administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello must face the fact, no government ever succeeded, no matter how strong you think you are with unpaid salary issue. Ibro almost fall out with Salitibot screening exercise but quickly readjusted and render the multi million naira exercise useless as virtually all those who were screened out find their way back except few.
Whoever love Yahaya Bello should stop rubbing his back and tell him the truth. There is a strong power in this government doing havoc to it, but the reason for his action is best known to such power. Some of the appointees, 95% of them are worse of it all. Are you sincerely advising the governor or you are scared that if you do your job is at risk? If that is your case, you are a mistake in this government.
My Bible told me, he who God loves he chastised, as an ardent supporter of this administration, I refuse to keep quiet even if I am seemed not to be heard I will speak, I speak loud and Clear like blind Bathemius in the Bible until the Jesus that need to hear my voice hears it.
As at today, it is a fact that;
1- Not all civil servants are paid against the December 20th 2016 deadline
2- Pensioners are there lamenting. Not yet paid.
3- Teachers and Hospitals Management Board are worse hit
When 20th of December 2016 given as deadline for payment of all outstanding salaries and pension, supporters of GYB took over social media, telling those who care to hear that our governor is out to surprise their mischief mind, but today they send us message of mockery asking us question we can’t actually answer. They call us names we can’t but just overlook.
To add salt to the already painful sore, appointees took millions if naira and food stuffs to their various local government to share. Some printed their names on it and it trends on social media.
For how long will we continue to shout hallelujah when when we are been flogged with hunger?
I have shown my worries in the past about Mr. Y.Y. Okala’s incompetency in handling the staff verification, but I was rebuffed. Many teachers in STTEB and TSC are yet to receive a dime 13 months counting now. Some received with 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 months not paid. The same goes to other ministry.
Who is after Yahaya Bello government?
Who is that strong man that want to cause disaffection to this government?
Who is happy that Yahaya Bello is the governor and as such biting him and at the same time fanning him? God will relocate whoever he or she is.
I have the boldness to say this, because I used this same medium to orchestrate the process of his emergence. I will not keep quiet and watch it fall.
This government must succeed. We must all stop praises and face reality. This 2017, by the grace of God, 2018 is another period of preparation for election, what will be our score card? May God in his infinite mercy will help GYB.
