The state government had continued to be insensitive to the plights of the workers. Some had been protesting against other irregularities in the payment of salaries of workers and pensions of retirees in the state.
Local government workers and teachers had not been paid for sixteen months, pointing out that they had been subjected to untold hardship. The workers had been subjected to meaningless screenings and futile verifications by the government.
The government has shown that the welfare of workers in the state is not it’s priority. Workers have been subjected to all kinds of belittling treatments in the name of screening and verifications that have not yielded any fruits apart from subjecting them to extreme hardships.

Their own case is the reverse, this is the sixteenth month they have not received salaries.
Most of their wives are not happy with them; some workers have been given quit notices from their homes; it has not being easy for someone to be working for sixteen months without payment. Some workers cannot feed their families; it is bad.
Some workers had become liars because they have been borrowing, promising to pay without doing so.
