Two Years in Office; NGO Honours Egwu

The Global Centre for Peace and Education, a non-governmental organisation has conferred an award of excellence on the member representing Idah Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Emmanuel Makoji Egwu in recognition of his outstanding contribution towards the development of Idah Federal constituency. The event took place in the office of the lawmaker at the National Assembly complex, Abuja (Thursday, 8th June, 2017).
Speaking at the occasion, the Founder/Chairman of the NGO, Comrade Oguche Matejuojo Otiti stated that the award was in recognition of the  numerous achievements recorded by Hon. Egwu mid way into his first term in the House of Representatives. His achievements according to Comrade Oguche includes the payment of WAEC/NECO fees of best performing students in public schools in his constituency, sponsorship of vital bills and motions, provision of potable water via drilling of boreholes, empowerment of women and youths and influencing of employment for his constituents. Noting that the lawmaker was well deserving of the honour bestowed on him.
Comrade Oguche however called on Hon. Egwu to look into the problem of electricity faced by the people of Ofante, Emakpe, Ogalaja-Ofada Communities in Ofu LGA Kogi State which is just about four kilometers away from Ofabo – Ogbonicha where electrification project stopped and come to the aid of the people of the areas.
Responding, Hon. Emmanuel Makoji Egwu thanked the group for recognising and identifying with his vision and mission in Idah Federal Constituency. He assured the people that his cardinal campaign promises have been achieved by a very high degree.
He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that he continues to, among other things, provide efficient consultative representation, scholarships, youth empowerment, women empowerment, community development, graduate employment, social facilities, free medical services and strengthening the Makoji Foundation. He assured the people of his constituency that the remainder of his tenure promises to be more eventful.
