I have never been impressed by titles or flamboyant lifestyles of the highly placed, though I have always been respectful of one’s position of authority and responsibility.
This doesn’t mean that I necessarily respect “the person” behind the title or position for no just cause. No!
Respect, trust and loyalty are earned over time. Ultimately, it has been the quality, consistency and presence of one’s character that I have always paid most attention to.
In other words, there are salient questions that comes to mind in one’s quest to embark on a sojourn of defining a leader .
The most important question is, does the leader run a self-centered lifestyle or do they have the ability to put their words into action that impacts others in a positive way?
Also still, do they play the part or do they define the part they play as a leader for the betterment of a healthier whole and the organization or people they serve?
When you think of great leaders who are honoured and respected,   they weren’t always necessarily well-liked. But they were respected for how they led and made those around them better.
Over time this earned respect defined their legacy  in a positive manner and secured their place in history (politically or otherwise).
The contemporary world of ours requires leaders to pay close attention to others. Leaders must be active and attentive listeners, practice patience, appreciate the unique talents and capabilities of their lieutenants, and be noticeably grateful for the effort and performance of his people.
Coming back home, life’s adventures took me places and met so many calibre of persons. The good, the bad and ugly.
The path I towed and every live to give the Almighty the admonition for, is coming across the person of Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Ohere. A leader like no other.
This piece is not meant to outline his unprecedented philanthropic gestures that cut across board, knowing no bounds. That will be a topic for another day.
Hon. Ohere remains a quintessential leader of repute. A man whose love for humanity knows no boundaries.
Anybody that have cause to go close to this leader would attest to the fact that Hon. Abubukar Sadiq Ohere is a selfless leader whose life is all about people not self.
I wouldn’t end this piece without saying a simple prayer for this humane leader: May God pay you back in your own coin. Amen.
