“The good people of Ebiraland in particular and Kogi State in general should tell the governor of Kogi State, Alh Yahaya Bello Adoza that he’s seriously progressing in error.
If you truly like him, you’ll tell him if he’s making mistakes that can affect his political carrier in future instead of praise singing him so as to get crumb from his dining table. Over 40% of Kogi workers can’t be ghost workers. And most of the people being tagged as ghost workers has been working for over 25years, some of them moved from old Kwara and old Benue States that formed the present Kogi State. Please, if you can’t assist them, don’t add to their pains. The truth must be told, it’s very unfair to impoverish the people that are already poor and suffering”. #Copied
As I went through this thought provoking piece from our worthy and beloved sister, Binta, I retrospectively took stock of last 1year and my experience in the hands of some pocket of our people and can not conclude without the candid opinion that IN EBIRA LAND,WE ARE SUFFERING FROM ELITE IGNORANCE.
For as long as we continue in self deceits,
We shall wallow in poverty. It was in those analogue ages, about 20 years ago, that the late Fela Anikulapo kuti sang against “society suffering and smiling ” Why have we seemingly been avoiding the truth as a people?
Most of us would recall that I, haven been one of the chief promoters of the then AYB before the APC primary election that produced Prince Abubakar Audu as the overall winner and my team of AYB as first runner up, I was in the forefront of his campaign and the move for the prospects of Ebira agenda within the federated agenda of the nation till date. I still have a huge referral facts and documents to this effects.
After the results of the election above, particularly after a month, I had to fall out with Alh. Yahaya Bello for some two reasons I term remote and immediate causes. They were both of primary and secondary value(I cannot go into this detail as I must respect the office).
Our people never took time to ask questions, but just condemned me because they were seeing the surface which was the immediate factor and not interested in the details which could have helped in preventing us from the ongoing experience.
I am a thorough bred Ebira man from a very forthright background and a heritage of service, there is therefore the burden of preserving my foundational history and projecting it for the unborn generation of the family. My personal interest cannot be more important than the collective interest of my people, but only had avoidable issues which are just beginning to manifest and today affecting our people.
With strong reference to the post from Binta Ahmed Abdullahi, I want to categorically make it public today that GYB respects me a great deal, and it will be unfair to deny that but because of his surrounding factors which I term the primary or remote causes of my difference with him here today, we fell apart. So most of our people who talked or condemned me out of ignorance then are now feeling the hit of the terrible moment, directly or indirectly as we talk.
Alh Yahaya Bello has won all the pro election judicial challenges of the validity of office, but in as much as we now have power rotated in the picture it emanated, the outside world thought our people should have gone further to replan the new beginning, but regrettably we became disjointed and disconnected as a nation and openly denied the foundation of the reality now confronting us.
The prevailing situation today has justified the remote causes of my difference with GYB. We are now at point of no return.
That primary cause where I differ may never make Ebira people reap a maximum benefit of having their son as the governor if nothing is done consciously and promptly. To further compound this factor is the quality and characters of the Ebira people with him. Apart from two of them, The rest are all failing on noble opportunities and rudimentary responsibilities.
Ebira leaders of thought must therefore come together as a matter of urgency, with all sincerity of purpose and commitment to focus,to prevent the avoidable future of worst poverty and poor political negotiating power in our nation building. Their major term of reference is to guide GYB and leverage on the opportunity of having their son as the governor to bear on the growth and development of Kogi Central.
Regardless of the company I have decided to be keeping politically, but considering the need to promote and protect the political interest of my people,i have decided as one of my core new year resolutions to play the role of an independent adviser and should not be seen as against my people henceforth.
Suffice to point out that, some of us,particularly some family, loyalists, aides and appendages may decide to misconstrue me as usual, but posterity will judge all of us. The silence or inattention of Ebira elders to this is a crime and GYB may not be held responsible in full time.
“The truth is always bitter, but it will come to past. ” Thanks for the masterpiece from sister Binta. You gave me the most awesome new year gift.
