With regards, love peace and humility we write this piece to all the sons and daughters of Dekina Local Government Area, Kogi State.

This letter is in form of reminder to you all. It is a known fact that both Dekina/Bassa are sharing same federal constituency, that is to say we have something in common politically.

It is therefore pertinent we enter into discussions. The fact remains that the representative at the National Assembly has been lopsided right from inception and this calls for great concern.

Look at this way; for 12 good years, candidates from Dekina LGA has always represented our federal constituency at the National Assembly.

Hon. Tom Zakari, Hon. Obebije and now Benjamin Ikani Okolo are all from Dekina. Where is Bassa in the scheme of things? We don’t think it is a crime to come from the minority ethnic group.

We implore the people of Dekina to give us in Bassa a chance to represent our people at the National Assembly and our candidate is the Ma’aji of Bassa Kingdom, Hon. Tim Nda Diche PhD.

Put yourselves in our shoes and know how it feels. Together we can make Dekina/Bassa great.

Signed: Hameed Imam

President, Bassa Youth Association
