Your Excellency,
We write to you with deep concern over developments within Kabba/Bunu State Constituency, particularly the refusal of the Local Government Chairman to convene a stakeholders’ meeting ahead of the party’s primary election.
This deliberate silence and lack of consultation have created tension and uncertainty among party members, aspirants, and grassroots supporters.
In a democratic setting, stakeholder engagement is not optional it is necessary for building consensus, fostering unity, and ensuring that decisions reflect the collective will of the people.
Unfortunately, the current situation suggests that the Local Government Executive Chairman, alongside a few close associates, may be attempting to impose a candidate on the constituency without due process or broad consultation. Such actions, if allowed to continue, risk undermining the credibility of the party and eroding the confidence of loyal members.
Your Excellency, this approach does not reflect the ideals of the All Progressives Congress, which is built on internal democracy, fairness, and inclusiveness. Any move perceived as imposition will not only divide the party but may also lead to disaffection among members.
We are compelled to state clearly that those pursuing this path do not appear committed to the success of the party. Rather, their actions risk weakening the party structure and could ultimately lead to electoral setbacks in the constituency.
We therefore respectfully call on you to intervene urgently by:
Directing the immediate convening of a stakeholders’ meeting involving all aspirants and party leaders
Ensuring a transparent, free, and fair primary election process
Preventing any form of imposition that could damage party unity.
Kabba/Bunu State Constituency remains a stronghold that must not be compromised due to avoidable internal issues.
With proper leadership and adherence to due process, the party can emerge stronger, united, and well-positioned for victory.
Your timely intervention will not only restore confidence but also reaffirm your commitment to justice, fairness, and democratic principles.
