…says it’s foreign and unprecedented.
Senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kogi West, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has frowned at what he called “political desperation and thuggery” in the western senatorial district of Kogi State.
According to him, the ugly trend is new in Kogi West.
“Shooting, killing, maiming and death threats has never been part of Kogi West politics. We have always competed fiercely and stiffly but healthily where it concerns politics.
“This new trend of sporadic shooting, thuggery and intimidation has never been part of us and it has to stop now before it degenerate into something we all will regret tomorrow.
“Democratic principles are rooted on the people choosing who they want to lead them and not leaders forcing themselves on people. If you believe your people want you,why shooting and beating people, let democracy run its full course,” he advised.
He called on all parties and their stakeholders to desist from anything that will breed rancour and violence in the land and let people decide who they want.
He task them to borrow a leaf from ADC’s nationwide primary elections where internal democracy were exemplified.
