A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth leader from Omala local government area of Kogi state, Ojochide Musa has called on the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Professor James Apam to ensure that the election materials for the Saturday House of Assembly election are not hijacked by hoodlums.

The youth leader, while speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday, said his fears was borne out of threats by some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) that they have allegedly concluded plans  not to deploy sensitive materials to Omala and Bassa LGAs which are strongholds of the PDP.

According to him, the threat of using the relevant government machinery  to ensure that sensitive electoral materials does not get to the two LGAs is becoming louder as the day approaches.

He urged the government and INEC not to allow their names to be smeared in the murky waters of politics.

Ojochide called on all the lovers of democracy and the people of Omala and Bassa LGAs to stand up against the enemies of the people by ensuring that they come out enmass to cast and defend their votes on Saturday 9th March.
