March 9 Polls: Okun Group Express Worries Over Alleged Threat of Violence in Kogi West

The Okun Media Link, a popular voice of the people of Kogi West senatorial district of the state has expressed worries over ugly signals of alleged threat to peace and security across the zone during Saturday State House of Assembly elections.

In a press release signed by the Chairman, Prince Friday Ogungbemi and made available to journalists in Lokoja on Wednesday, the group warned politicians against violence and advised them to embrace peaceful conduct of the elections.

He counseled that all the candidates are brethren whose aim is for the development of the zone.

Ogungbemi said the people of Kogi West are renown for their industry, forthrightness and political enlightenment adding that the people have contributed to the growth of the state and may not be party to actions that will be a clog to the well-being of the people.

The chairman called on all the stakeholders to lend their voice in order to calm the tensions while warning trouble makers not to turn the zone into a war theatre.

While encouraging all and sundry to come out enmass to exercise their franchise for the candidates of their choice, Ogungbemi urged them to be mindful of their actions as it may account against them in the future.
