The paramount ruler of Apata -Oworo in Lokoja local government area of Kogi state, Oba Frederick Balogun, has called on government at all level to come to the aid of his community in its quest for rapid socio-economic development of the people and area.
The Oba made this appeal in his address as Chairman of the Kogi state chapter of Unijos Alumni Association’s 4-in-1 ceremony in Lokoja.
He contended that for Nigeria’s economy to rejuvenate, citizens must return to agriculture.
He appealed to government to provide more social infrastructure for his people and other rural settlements as a sure way of boosting agricultural development.
The monarch also thanked the government of Kogi state for the provision of some basic amenities the community has witnessed and prayed for the peace and economic growth of the country.
As Chairman of the occasion, he admonished graduates of the University of Jos to stay united and extend assistance to each other.
The Oba also, in his usual manner, used the platform to preach peace, love and fear of God. According to him, these are the major prerequisite to development.
