The former House of Assembly candidate of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) for Kabba/Bunu state constituency during the last general election, Hon. Seyi Babaeko has charged Okun people to come together and promote a united interest for 2023 Kogi governorship poll during the forthcoming Okun Political Summit.

He gave the charge while answering questions about the forthcoming first ever Okun Political Summit scheduled to hold on Saturday 19th October this year.

Babaeko called on stakeholders to ensure the November governorship election in the state is peaceful across Okun land.

“For sure, the good people of Okun Nation needs a political summit especially at this point in time that we need to speak with one voice and accord to set the agenda straight as there is an urgent need to renegotiate our collective interest. The focus of the summit should be on how Okun can produce the next Governor in 2023, addressing insecurity and youths unemployment.

“The Okun people must ensure that the forth coming election is free, fair and credible. There is also the need to ensure that there is no violence before, during and after the election.

“Inter-tribal alliance is not negotiable because collaboration is key to growth and development. Such inter-tribal alliance will promote peace, unity and progress of our dear State.

“My expectation is for the summit to be educative, interactive and to also be an avenue to provide possible solutions to problems bedeviling us as a people,” he said.
