Ahead of November governorship election, the National Coordinator of the Zero Hunger Commodity Associations, Dr Tunde Arosanyin has charged the Okun speaking people of Kogi state to negotiate their collective political interests by weighing the two political options critically as presented by the two strong political parties.

Arosanyi gave the charge during a chat with newsmen in Abuja on Monday. He spoke on the necessity of the forthcoming Okun Political Summit.

He stated that no single ethnic nationality can single handedly win the Governor’s seat, based on present political equation in the state, and urged Okuns to negotiate for a mutual benefit as a block.

“Though it is practically impossible to put all our eggs in one basket but to a larger extent we can negotiate for a mutual political benefit as a block. In the present political equation in Kogi State, no single ethnic nationality can single handedly win the Governor seat. Therefore, the Okun Nation, as the bride, have a strong bargaining power to negotiate for the seat of governor in no distant future,” he said.

He expressed hope that the Okun Political Summit will be a launchpad for a brighter future for the zone.

“I expect a robust and rich discussion on the way forward for the Okun people. It is also my expectation that the outcome will place our people on a strong political pedestal for a brighter future. This can easily be achieved if we strengthens our unity as a people.”

The Okun Political Summit will hold on 12th October, 2019 in Kabba.
