Okoro Gbedde High School ’97 Set Reunites, Honour Members, Gives Back to Alma Mater

The Okoro Gbedde Highof ’97 is set to hold a grand reunion and award ceremony on January 28, 2025.

A statement signed by the set President, Chief Olorunsuwa Elijah Ola on Friday said the momentous occasion marks a significant milestone in the lives of the alumni, who have remained committed to giving back to their alma mater.

The reunion, which promises to be a day of nostalgia, networking, and celebration, will bring together members of the ’97 set from various walks of life. The event will feature an award ceremony, recognizing outstanding contributions and achievements of alumni, as well as a donation to the school.

According to the reunion planning committee, “This event is a testament to the enduring bonds of friendship and camaraderie forged during our time at Okoro Gbedde High School. We are excited to reconnect, reminisce, and give back to the institution that shaped us into the individuals we are. During the event, Alh Siyaka Adabenege Yakubu, the Auditor General for Local Government, who is a member of the set, will he honoured with an award.

“Also, High Chief Samuel Abiodun, who was the school principal as of the time of the set, was in school, has also been pencilled down for an award. Nominated for awards are Engr Michael Obanewo and Mr Richard Osaseyi, who are both alumni of the college and have variously engaged in philanthropic gestures towards students of the school. Alh Kadiri Rasaq, a member of the set. Similarly, Alh Kadiri has also been nominated for award, as well as Bar Dare Michael , Executive Chairman, Kabba/Bunu LGA and Alh Ibrahim Haruna, Ijumu LGA Chairman who are both former students of the college.”

The event is scheduled to take place on January 28, 2025, at Riverton Hotel Lokoja. All members of the Okoro Gbedde High School ’97 set, as well as friends and family, are invited to attend.
