The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Honourable Aliyu Umar Yusuf has assured the APC flagbearer in next month’s gubernatorial election, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo of overwhelming victory.
He stated this in an interview with journalists on Saturday during the party’s Kogi Central campaign rally held in Okene.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed, quoted the speaker to have noted that there is a divine involvement in the Ododo project, hence the stupendous love being shown to the party by Kogi citizens as the election draw near.
The Speaker gave credence to the good governance and obvious efforts of Governor Yahaya Bello to ensure development of the entire state as the reason for the good fortune of the party, noting that the humility, foresight and progressive experience of the candidate also contributed in no small measures.
He assured citizens of the commitment of Alhaji Ododo to continue with the legacies of improved infrastructure, strong security architecture, quality education, and provision of healthcare facilities, including rural development after his emergence.
He called on the party’s stakeholders and support groups not to rest on their oars, but continue with door-to-door campaigns to ensure massive votes for the APC during the election.
The Speaker was in company of his counterpart at the National Assembly for Lokoja/Kogi (Kotonkarfe) Federal Constituency, Hon Danladi Suleiman Aguye, the member representing Lokoja I State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Bin-Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani, the former member of the National Assembly for the area, Hon Haruna Isah, and the member representing Kogi State Constituency at the state House of Assembly, Hon Idrees Aliyu among others.
