Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada, says there will be no hiding place for those behind the bombing of Tao FM in Kuroko, Adavi LGA of Kogi State.
Capt Wada made the vow to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crime, when he paid a visit to the station founded by Dr. Tom Adaba, renowned broadcaster and former Director General (DG) of National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).
The Governor disclosed that the radio station which has become the voice of Ebira people would be given the necessary support and encouragement to resume operation.
The Governor who was represented at the visit by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, described the act to bomb the FM radio station as callous, and senseless said the radio station was so dear to the people of Ebiraland.
Wada described the perpetrators behind the bombing of the radio station as wicked and people who hate development.
The governor lamented the set back the destruction has caused the state, said the destruction is not justifiable.
Capt Wada said information in the present time is power, wondered the reason behind the destruction said it is not only a loss to Ebiraland but to the state as a whole.
Capt Wada assured of support that will reawaken the station, sympathized with the management and staff of the media house for the loss of lives and properties.
The Governor prayed God to grant the family of the four dead persons the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, said government is concerned and committed to arrest insecurity issues across the state.
The Governor who was accompanied on the visit by the Commissioner for information, Hajia Zainab Okino, was received by Salamatu Ali, the Accountant of the FM Station, who said the destruction was a set back, disclosed that it happened at a time the station when the station has become a household name to the people of Ebiraland. She praised the state government for the concern and support they have shown since the incident occurred.
During the visit to the station, Capt Wada also paid a courtesy call on the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alh Ado Ibrahim and commiserated with the Royal father on the destruction done to the radio station.
The Governor assured the Royal father that efforts is on to track and punish the perpetrators of the crime, said such destructive action will not be condone by the government, especially that the people of the area have in recent time lived peacefully with one another.
In his remarks, Alh Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, called for more security presence in the area, said the bombing came as a shock to the people and commended government for their concern.
It would be recalled that the ugly incident at Tao FM occurred last week when some unknown assailants invaded the premises of the radio station and caused the death of four persons as well as damage to the station.
Mr Godwin i do goes through your article on political tribalism, it was grate. But i have this to say, the development of our great State is not on tribal or ethnic politics. We lack Political Gladiators in the state but with the Okun, Ebira and the Good People Of Igala Kingdom we can achieve a better Kogi State.
