Nigeria Senate Mourns Salihu Ohize

The Senate on Wednesday mourn on the demise of the former senator representing Kogi central senatorial district,  late senator Salihu Ohize.
The Senate who observed a minute silence and prayed  for the peaceful repose of the deceased also condoled with the people and government of Kogi state over the loss.
Senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki in his reaction said, the Senate will send a delegation of senators to be led by Senator Ahmed Ogembe to visit the family of late the Senator of the 6th senate.
This followed a point of order raised by Senator Ahmed Ogembe representing Kogi central senatorial district. Senator Ogembe who derived inspiration from order 43 of the Senate standing rule extol the leadership qualities and selfless service of Late Ohize.
It will be recalled that Senator Salisu Otaru Ohize died on 30 October 2016 at the National Hospital Abuja after an undisclosed illness. He was a two term local government chairman of Okene local government from  where he won election to represent Kogi  central senatorial district between 2007 and 2011 at the upper chamber of the 6th National Assembly.
