The APC Youth Vanguard, Kogi East, has read with keen interest the publication and images circulating on social media regarding the media tour of federal and state projects in Kogi State by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the Presidential Media Team.
While we commend every effort aimed at projecting the Renewed Hope Agenda, it has become necessary to clarify to Nigerians and the APC family what exactly will shape the voting decision of Kogi East in 2027. In 2023 presidential election, during FGYB tenure, where he intentionally refused Kogi East logistics, yet the National Assembly members from Kogi East rallied themselves to deliver the district to about 45%. Kogi East doesn’t need cajoling to vote our dear president.
Kogi East Senatorial district remains fully committed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR]. However, our support is anchored on the President’s demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, his Renewed Hope policies at the national level and the quality representation provided by our sons and daughters in the National Assembly and in his administration. Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the Presidential Media Team should endeavour to tour kogi East, the state’s voting bloc, and get disappointed with Ododo three years without even a borehole in Kogi East.
The truth is simple, and Kogi East people know it. President Tinubu has, for the first time, given our zone a sense of belonging at the centre. The appointments of Igala people into federal positions and the numerous projects and empowerments scheme of distinguished Senator representing the district (Isah Jibrin) are what has touched the heart of our people. This is the goodwill we will reciprocate with massive votes in 2027.
The Vanguard further noted that while we hold the office of the Governor, His Excellency Alh. Usman Ododo, in high regard, the people of Kogi East cannot in good conscience link our 2027 support to state government performance. As there’s nothing to write home in Kogi East from the state.
Let us be honest. As of today, Kogi East cannot point to any signature project or landmark intervention in our nine LGAs that justify tying our presidential votes to state performance. To say otherwise is to misrepresent the reality on the ground.
The APC Youth Vanguard Kogi East maintains that President Tinubu’s victory in Kogi East in 2027 will be driven by:
The President’s inclusive appointments that have given Kogi East visibility and relevance in the federal government.
The outstanding performance of our National Assembly Caucus, led by Distinguished Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho) and our members in the House of Representatives, who have attracted federal interventions and continue to speak for Kogi East.
The Renewed Hope economic and social reforms of President Tinubu, which are gradually repositioning the nation for growth and prosperity.
We also use this opportunity to respectfully appeal to Mr. President and the federal government to do more for Kogi East in the areas of federal road rehabilitation, healthcare upgrade, and youth employment.
In conclusion, the APC Youth Vanguard Kogi East assures President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of our total mobilization and loyalty. We are not waiting for anyone to convince us.
Kogi East will vote in Tinubu because Tinubu remembered Kogi East. That is politics of appreciation.
