Nigeria Customs Service Redeploys New Controllers to Kogi, Rivers States

The Nigeria Customs Service has redeployed A. M. Adamu, as the new Controller of the Niger/Kogi Area Command.

The Spokesman of the state Command, DSC NE Tanga, stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Minna on Monday.

Tanga confirmed that the handing over ceremony took place on Monday at the state area command headquarters.

He said that Comptroller Adamu succeeded Comptroller W. A. Dappa, now redeployed to Rivers State.

Tanga added that the former comptroller, in a brief ceremony, thanked the management, officers and men of the Area Command for their support and cooperation during his short stay in the command.

He added that Dappa urged officers and men to extend the same cooperation accorded him to the new helmsman of the area command.

The new Comptroller, the statement said reiterated his preparedness to prevent any form of smuggling business in the area command.

He also told officers and men of the area command to brace up to their responsibilities in the discharge of their duties and be committed, warning that his leadership in the command will not accept any act of absenteeism, disrespect and violation of human rights.

He appealed to the residents of state to compliment the efforts of the command by coming forward with reliable information that could aid the command apprehend those involved in smuggling activities.
