The newly appointed Commissioner for Works and Housing, Hon. Samson Bako, has called on staff of the ministry to work harder in line with the vision of the new direction government of Kogi state.
Bako, a former Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello, gave the charge on assumption of office in Lokoja on Tuesday.
He got a warm reception from the Permanent Secretary, directors and staff of the ministry, who described his appointment as well deserved.
He promised to justify the confidence reposed on him by Governor Bello, and also pledged to establish cordial relationship with the existing staff of the Ministry, adding that, before any organisation could work and achieve its goals, unity which is key to success is imperative.
He encouraged all staff members of the Ministry to come together, stressing that his office would be opened to all ideas that could bring about the growth and development of the ministry.
“I appreciate his excellency for giving me the opporturnity to serve under his administration and I promise to be loyal to his excellency and the administration in any assignment, task, duties and responsibility that may be assign to me diligently in accordance with new direction mantra,” he said.
During the handing-over, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Engr E.O Audu, appreciated the Governor Bello for the consideration of a man of impeccable character as the new commissioner for the ministry.
