NBTE Upgrades Nigeria-Korea Institute Lokoja to Monotechnic

The Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute of Vocational and Advanced Technology has received approval from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to upgrade from an Innovative Educational Institute (IEI) into a Monotechnic thereby creating more robust opportunities for the students and the higher institution.

According to the Rector, Williams Charles Oluwatoyin who gave this announcement in a press statement on Tuesday, the details of the upgrade was contained in a letter by the NBTE dated Monday 18th of March, where he also hinted that with this recent development, the institution now offers certificates as National Diploma (ND) as against the National Innovative Diploma (NID) that was previously obtainable.

The Rector noted that upon request by the institution’s management, the NBTE granted express approval giving certain conditions, all of which have all been met even before now.

He added that the institution’s recent meeting with the State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo alongside the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Mr. Sungil Son spurred certain actions that have yielded this positive outcome.

The Rector thanked the governor and expressed confidence that the governor will continue to give the institution necessary support that will enable the institution to place Kogi on the global map.

He expressed that the institution was fast affirming its place as a global force in the vocational and Technical education terrain noting that with the timely upgrade by the supervising and regulatory Board, the institution was further enlarging its opportunity to further deliver on its mandates.

The Rector finally hinted that the Institution will soon embark on its first Innovation Exhibition to showcase the potentials of institutions to the world.
