Dear Natasha Akpoti,
There is an African proverb which says “Those whose palm-kernels were cracked by a benevolent spirit should not forget to be humble”
Another African proverbial story narrates that; A young mosquito went out flying for the first time in his life. When it came back the father asked, “How was it out there and how did you feel? The young mosquito replied, “It was great! Daddy, everyone was clapping for me”. The father replied “No one was clapping hands for you”. Everyone wants to kill you. The more they clapped, the more chances you were going to die.ย MORAL LESSON: In life, not all the people who celebrate you are well wishers. So, be WISE!
Kogi Central has outgrown dirty politics of bitterness and violence. Governor Yahaya Bello has zero-tolerance for act of indiscipline, criminality and all forms of societal ills and violence.
Do not mislead the public or instigate people against the government of Governor Yahaya Bello. Bello APC-led government in Kogi state is readily determined to fixing infrastructural deficits orchestrated by the past regimes.
Before the enthronement of Bello’s government in the state, there was a wide range of underdevelopment of public infrastructures, insecurity, terrorism, armed robbery, kidnapping, communal violence, clannish violence, political thuggery, unemployment etcetera in the state particularly, in the Central Senatorial District. Today the story is different and security has unarguably and remarkably improved, credit to Governor Yahaya Bello.
Governor Yahaya Bello has and will never for whatsoever reasons patronise thuggery and political violence, rather, readily determined to decisively deal with any person or group of persons who poses, incites or promotes any act of civil unrest and political upheaval.
I am speaking from an informed position and perceptive, that Governor Bello will never condone any act inimical to the peace of the good people of Kogi Central and the State at large.
However, the ugly incident in Okehi LGA which resulted to the death of late Ojo Enesi was a sad development and condemned in totality and saddened to know that, the late Ojo Enesi who is said to be a supporter of APC by Okehi APC is also being claimed by your party SDP as its supporter.
Few days ago, a report also reaches us that APC Ward Chairman in Kuroko Adavi LGA Mall Sadiq Isah, attacked to coma by SDP supporters as alleged.
May the soul of Ojo Enesi rest in peace and may God grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Amin.
Be reminded that, there was no killing nor thuggery for the emergence of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as the 4th Executive Governor of Kogi State and there will be no such in the course of his re-election under his watch.
It is also regrettably sad that as a trained lawyer and a senatorial candidate of a political party, you can publicly refers to the Chief Security Officer of the State as a killer, and such a strong allegation against the personality of the state Governor without any substantive evidence to substantiate your weighty allegations was highly unacceptable and extremely offensive.
This singular action is an indication that it is dangerous to have you as a representative of the people. There is no any responsible leader that will make such a statement against any person without evidence talk more of a Chief Security Officer of the State.
Whoever is backing you and clapping for you for this unhealthy trends and statements are your real enemies and not Governor Yahaya Bello.ย This is the same Governor who recently welcomed you to his camp when you declared your interest for senate under All Progressives Congress (APC), the same Governor who honoured your request for scholarship in favour of a young Ebira lawyer, Barrister Fatima Bombom Sani for her continuing study abroad, the same Governor who recently paid you a visit personally at your Abuja residence when he heard of your involvement in a ghastly accident.
The good people of Ebira land are currently enjoying a relative peace, unity, progress and ultimately, the security of Kogi Central more than ever, since Governor Yahaya Bello assumed office.
In the words of Abraham Lincoln; “You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
A word is enough for the wise!
