Open Letter To The President Of The Federal Republic Of Nigeria

Sir,
Appeal for The Approval of Federal Medical Center Lokoja For Training of Kogi Medical Students
The leadership and members of the Kogi State Medical Students Association (KOMSA), the umbrella body of over five hundred (500) medical students of Kogi state origin, studying in about thirty (30) medical institutions across Nigeria, heartily welcomes the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari to the confluence state and wishes to reassure the presidency of the firm and unwavering support of the entire populace of the State.
We wish to use this medium to draw His Excellency’s attention to the lack of accreditation of the College of Medicine of Kogi State University, which has left over a hundred medical students stagnated for the past 6-7 years.
In view of this, KOMSA would like to use this opportunity to appeal to His Excellency to approve the use of the Federal Medical Center Lokoja, as a temporary teaching hospital for the college as the center has the necessary staff and facilities required to train Medical students.
Sir, approving this site for temporary usage by the state will help to dramatically boost the number of doctors available for the much needed service within the state. This will also give the state the much needed time to fully develop her own teaching hospital which will eventually take over the training of the students into an ultramodern, state of the art health institution.
So Much Effort has been made by the Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello led Administration to help the State Medical Students, and We ask that Your Excellency also Continue this gesture which we have enjoyed from the State Government by Approving the Proposal of the Kogi State Government to convert the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, to a Federal Teaching Hospital.
We Believe in your dream of a better Nigeria and We are solidly behind you to move Nigeria to the Next level.
