The senatorial candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Kogi Central, Barr. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has pledged to donate the sum of five million naira to pay the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) fees of students in the senatorial district.

Natasha made this known on Sunday when she met with students and different groups rooting for her candidature in her country home in Ihima, Okehi LGA, Kogi State.

The payment, according to her, is to help parents cushion the burden of paying the WAEC fees of their children in the five local government areas of Kogi Central senatorial distinct.

Akpoti promised to do more and convince different organizations to channel their corporate social responsibility (CSR) to support educational programmes when she gets to the Senate.

“I am doing this as a private citizen, I know it’s not enough but I promise to do more and support educational development of our people when I get to the Senate,” she said.

Natasha also promised to work with students when she gets to the National Assembly and charged them to find solutions to the societal challenges through innovative ideas.

“When you get back to your various schools, spread the message of hope, this is one chance to fix the future, four years is too long to waste,” she added.

The PDP senatorial candidate has been supporting educational development of her people. In 2015, she adopted 600 children in her country home and gave them scholarship for them to have access to quality education.

Akpoti had also given scholarship to students in the higher institutions for them to achieve their academic goals.
