A political group of Yoruba-speaking people in Kogi State, Okun Peoples Front, has called described a member of the House of Representatives, Hon James Faleke, as “a pride of Okun nation”.

In a statement issued in Lokoja on Thursday, Pastor Ben Ayo Abereoran, National President of Okun Peoples Front, commended Faleke for his numerous initiatives in Okun land.

The group described Faleke as “Mr. Empowerment”.

Abeberoran said the group is amazed because Faleke is not representing any Federal Constituency in Okun land, “yet he is doing so much help for the Okun nation. He is representing Ikeja federal constituency at the National assembly. So he has no business empowering anyone but as a proper son of Okun nation he refused to forget his root as typified by his numerous programs for his people.”

“This organization and her leadership don’t believe in sycophancy or praise singing anyone, but we acknowledge, appreciate and advertise performing politician that their works are visible and can be empirically quantified.”

Reeling out the numerous intervention projects embarked upon by Faleke, the statement noted that “We want to put it on record that he excels; these are some of his works that we are aware of. Recently, he carried out a medical outreach free of charge at Kabba. His empowerment programme for widows and youths are unparalleled and unprecedented. He constructed rural roads, his intervention in the welfare of our people are worthy of commendation. He facilitated employment for some of our youths in federal agencies. He has listening ears, very approachable and humility personified.

“The organization is aware that some indigent people are on his monthly payroll; this is aside his student scholarship programme. We want to place it on record that our famers were given many agricultural incentives.

“It is in the light of the above that Okun people fronts are celebrating God in his life. We can boldly say he is a pride of Okun nation.”

The group reminded all elected officials that a day of accountability will come.
