Monarch Laments Dearth of Infrastructure in Bunu Land

The Olukiri of Kiri land, Oba Jem Kiri and other traditional rulers of Kiri have expressed great dissatisfaction with the state of infrastructure in Bunu land, Kabba-Bunu local government of Kogi state.

The traditional rulers made this known when they played host to the Pastor Kolawole Johnson-led National Executive of Bunu Development Association (BDA) at the Olukiri’s palace on Tuesday.

The called on government to give urgent attention to the near non-existence of infrastructure in the over thirty communities in Kiri land.

They expressed worries that the continued destruction of farms by herdsmen has affected their economy so badly, to the point that food that are produced in excess before are now bought from neighboring communities.

The Traditional Rulers called on the government at all levels to come to their rescue.

They also called for unity among all sons and daughters of the land in the interest of the collective development of Bunu land.

Reacting on behalf of BDA, Pastor Kolawole appreciated the oneness of the Obas and the reception accorded the executive, while assuring the monarchs that the current executive will do all within its power to bring the demands to government’s attention.

He solicited prayers and cooperation of Bunu people for the BDA Executive at all times.
