In continuation of the grassroots campaign ahead of the upcoming Local Government elections scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026, the Accountant General of Kogi State, Chief Dr. Hajia Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko, led a high-powered mobilization team to Obehira-Ovete ward in Okene LGA to seek support and secure a total victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship and councillorship candidates.
Hajia Habibat emphasized the unity among the residents of Obehira-Uvete, adding that if we stand together and work for the All Progressives Congress (APC), it will give us more opportunities to demand the dividends of democracy
She commended the efforts of former Governor Yahaya Bello for the good work he has done in the area of infrastructure development and for leaving a strong legacy for his successor, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The Accountant General stated that Yahaya Bello’s bid for the Senate and Sani Ogembe’s run for the House of Representatives for Okene/Ogori-Magongo is a done deal, noting that victory in the forthcoming local government elections will serve as a test run for the 2027 polls.
Hajia Habibat applauded Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for making the welfare, security, and property of Kogi citizens his top priority.
