The leading PDP governorship aspirant, Senator Dino Melaye has assured Kogi electorate of a people-conscious government.
He gave the assurance while addressing PDP delegates in the various local government areas he visited on Friday in the Eastern part of the state.
Melaye who expressed so much concern for the suffering people of the state in the last 4 years of the present administration in the state said: “I have passion for the people. I have proven that because of my fights for the emancipation of our people especially the civil servants and the pensions.
“Ideas are the crude oil all over the world today. You can not have a governor that lacks idea and expect development. I have traveled wide and know how things work in other countries of the world. Kogi State is more populated and more blessed than some of these countries, yet poverty prevails.”
Engr. Audu Edward, while making his short remark, stated that Senator Dino Melaye is the only aspirant that have the capacity to lead the state.
Capt. Abdullahi in his own remark said that Dino Melaye has become a household name that does not need any introduction. He charged delegates to consider the interest of the entire state first in voting regardless of tribal or religious sentiment.
“Dino is the most acceptable aspirant across the state” he concluded.
Also addressing the delegates, former Secretary to Kogi state government, Barr. Shola Ojo said that with the coming of Dino Melaye, Kogi will be saved from previous domineering influences perpetrated by the past leaders.
The Director General of the Dino governorship campaign team, Amb. Isaac Onu saluted the courage and determination of the Igala people to vote for a candidate with capacity.
“I have been coming to you my people to beg for your support for different candidates at different times but I have never brought any of my brother or siblings to you. I know it is not right in any sense.
“I am bringing a candidate that has vision for the betterment of the state. I assure you all that with Dino Melaye as governor of the state, Kogi will take her rightful position in the comity of states”.
