Our present political situations cum imbroglio should be carefully handled to avoid sliding deepest into a more debilitating and annihilating mess that could totally obliterate us from the over all scheme of things in Kogi state and Nigeria political affairs.

By all designs, as a people we have all the ingredients it takes to be in the saddle in whatever capacity, so, let’s get organized, avoid those deceptive so called former this and former that, stakeholders who can’t stand the heat and chicken out in the face of challenging realities, so as to forge a common front towards the over all well being of the great hospitable Igala race.

The Igala race from time immemorial have been blessed with personalities of proven intelligence and integrity, but most unfortunately, majority of them that find themselves in privilege positions of authority happens to be very selfish, deceptive and greedy to the point that the boomerang effects of their irredeemable actions is seriously telling on every aspect of our political, social and traditional lives at the moment.

Consequently, our unity as a people is greatly and dangerously being threatened, we seems too divided along different lines as a result of our attachment to the philosophy and beliefs of those different gladiators, their actions, inactions and beliefs have really pushed the mindset of the custodians of our various institutions towards an unguarded pride and class distinctions, by extension, their involvement in so much abnormal and anti everything behaviours.

There is no so called political gladiator, stakeholders, or leaders with a foundation where lives of indigents can be supported. None, despite having all the monies and privileged to have managed a state for close to a decade, and as well those that enjoyed the quota share of our federal character spreads, the only level of empowerment is thuggery, nothing more, nobody among the promising young lads, no matter their positive exploits in various fields; education, sports, agriculture, and more have receive any form of support from any, they ll rather empower gullible youths spontaneously and demand loyalty in form of all manners of misbehaviour just to protect their selfish interest. They are never real, on one position, just because of their assumed status, they will promise any aspirant that come to them for support, even when its obvious they won’t support that person. They will give false hope to all aspirants. A sincere stakeholder or leader will assess and see who is best capable and tell others, sorry I cant support you, I have taken a stand on Mr. A or even Z. That’s how leaders lead, but our case is something else, may God almighty liberate and free us, masses of Kogi East and the entire state, from the shackles of under developments as caused by the actions of these dispassionate individuals.

Almost everyone from kogi East is now a potential governorship candidate in the forthcoming November state governorship elections. Some of them knows too well that their popularity and acceptability can not even guarantee them a councillorship slot. They just put in with the remote intention of using their involvement to bargain for something when eventually it turned green at a particular end. Aside that, the other implications are that, they will create enmity for supporters, heat up everything by sniffing around to pick out who and who is not supporting them. In the end, they will just help in polarizing the whole structure, which will now reduce the chances of a particular party preparation towards electoral success or victory, let them not distract us.

The precedent of thuggery as encouraged before, though nailed by Capt Idris Wada during his reign as governor, was later ignited in the last election where scores of lives were lost. Daniel Usman and others, rest on.

We appeal and pray, that those who gave out those guns should retrieve them, otherwise, our prayers shall be that the same gun should be used to cause them same pain they caused the families of those who lost their loved ones.

Conclusively, I guess the time has come for a proper positive reorientation, enlightenment and awareness so as to inform our people, the need to stop leaning on the so called leaders, stakeholders and all, because, when the cloud of war was gathering momentum in the name of election most notably in Dekina, Ofu, Olamaboro and Igalamela local governments, during the February general elections, none of them was bold enough to step in, they were afraid of even driving through Lokoja, but they now want someone else’s son to take bullet for them to come and lord over.

We must begin to look beyond them, look inward for possible means of liberating ourselves, non but ourselves alone can do it.

In various security outfits, DSS, Army, Police, Civil Defence and others, there are highly placed prominent Igala sons and daughters serving, and retired, let them come together, do an intelligent meeting and then come up with a security strategies capable of curbing the insecurity, killings and all other life threatening security challenges in our land once and for all. They owe Ane Ayegba Oma Idoko that onerous responsibility.

As for those jostling for Kogi Governorship, the elders forum in Kogi, the parties stakeholders and other key eminent Kogi sons and daughters, the criteria, for anybody’s emergence should be; capacity, integrity and fear of God.
