A frontline House of Representative aspirant in the yet-to-be-scheduled bye-election to fill void left by the death of former Deputy Majority Leader, late Arc. Buba Jibril, Hon. Kassim Mabo has declared that will actualise his ambition on the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Mabo, a one time Lokoja LGA Council chairman, said his ambition is centred on the need to offer purposeful representation. He revealed that he was urged to join the House of Reps race by his constituents.
He described the African Democratic Congress as a people oriented political party.
He called on the people of Lokoja-Koto to get involved in conscious sensitization of the electorates, pointing out that the race to occupy the vacant seat created by the late Deputy Majority leader is a task that must be accomplished.
A founding member of APC in Kogi state, Mabo promised to build on the legacies of the late Buba Jibril. He noted that as Buba’s lieutenant who knew his plan to improve on the lives of the people, he is set to continue from where the late lawmaker stopped.
The next election to replace the late lawmaker, according to Hon. Mabo, is an election between the people and those who are out to impose their will on the mass majority, saying the people will resist such imposition.
Hon. Mabo said the House of Representatives bye election is a race between him and others. He asserted that his experience will help him dwarf his other opponents, most especially that the are stooges of the government that has lost the confidence of the people.
